Ravi Shastri (Cricket)
Ravi Shastri is a former Indian cricket player and the former head coach of the Indian national cricket team. He was born on May 27, 1962, in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India.
Shastri is known for his versatility in cricket, having played as an obdurate opening or middle-order batsman and a left-arm spinner integral to the attack.
Some of his notable achievements include being a prolific middle-order batsman and a successful all-rounder for the Indian cricket team.
He served as a long-time deputy to several captains, including Kapil Dev and Sourav Ganguly. He was also a part of the Indian team that won the coveted World Championship of Cricket in Australia in 1985.
